Carol was an animal lover from a very young age and often talked about her beloved GSD Max who she had when she was 21.  Carol never forgot Max and when the time came for a puppy to enter her life again of course it had to be a GSG.  Mark is also a life long dog lover and so it was always going to happen despite his initial protestations to the contrary.

Carol had always wanted a horse of her own and so when the opportunity came up to re-home Ellie she jumped at the chance.  Ellie was pregnant and so a few months after Carol took her on Caffrey was born.  It was love at first sight and Caffrey doted on Carol as much as she did on him.  She always made sure he had everything he needed and over the years trained him and rode him to high standard.  Unfortunately a shoulder injury put paid to her riding but she continued to spend as much time as possible with Caffrey just enjoying their time together.  

When I first met Carol we immediately found we had lots in common, most especially our love of animals.  Carol loved the cats that we owned and bred and so it wasn't long before firstly Mac & Merry and then Louie and Leo went to live with Carol & Mark.  In the early days of my cat judging Carol was a great calming support to me and came to steward for me on my very first judging engagement in December 2004.  She always knew the right thing to say and was great fun to boot, I always enjoyed those times together. 

Carol adored Louie and Leo and was heartbroken when Leo passed away suddenly in late June.  Both cats were a great comfort to Carol in these last two year always knowing when she needed a bit of TLC. 

Loki entered their lives on 7th September 2018, he was a wonderful distraction at the most difficult of times and Carol incredibly continued to walk him several times a day until just a few weeks before she passed.
