I just had to use NHS Direct after a wobble with my blood sugar levels and I have to say I was really impressed. They were thorough, calming, offered to call an ambulance for me (we explained we needed some advice first we didn’t want to waste the time of the ambulance service) so they put me through to a clinical support member of staff and then had a doctor call me, who was so friendly and helpful. They were happy to speak to Mark when I wasn’t quite as communicative as I could have been and gave me some solid advice about managing my insulin administration.
It’s a great comfort knowing they’re there.
Once again I have been overwhelmed by the NHS service I have received in the last 2 months. Shame that twat Hunt is doing his best to fuck it up big time!
